Perennial Pathways

Thymus serpyllum (Creeping Thyme)

This can contains a perennial variety suitable for growing around stone paths, walkways, and retaining walls.

Creeping Thyme - is a soft evergreen perennial groundcover, which forms a dense mat with clusters of tiny lavender to white flowers. Withstands light foot traffic. Maximum growing height 4".

Directions - Shake can well be for using.

Preparing the soil - Plant seeds in a sunny to partially shaded area in early spring after all danger of frost has passed. Loosen the soil surrounding the walkway/ pathway material. Be sure to leave a space of 2" (5cm) from the sowed seeds and the walkway material to allow for growth. Sow seeds to a depth of ¼" (6mm) evenly throughout the planting area. Lightly rake again to create a good see/soil contact.
Lightly water immediately after sowing, using a fine spray. Avoid puddling. Keep seedbed moist until seedlings are well established. Continue to water as needed.

Maintenance - Thyme is generally maintenance free. Plants can be divided every 2-3 years to avoid over crowding. Remove spent flowers for thicker growth.
